Often described by pilots as the best airport for its size in Alabama, Folsom Field has quite made a name for itself among the aviation community and beyond. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, Cullman Airport is a state-of-the-art small airport. The lighted runway at Folsom Field is 5,500 feet long and is capable of handling aircraft up to and including the Boeing 737. The 10,000 square-foot terminal offers a variety of services and amenities including.

• Pilot Lounge with shower

The airport also is home to the Wallace State College Flight School and the skydiving group Skydive Alabama, who have office space in the airport's main hangar. The main hangar can house up to 15 aircraft, depending on their size. The airport also has three corporate hangars and eight T-Hangar units. Fifty-six tie-down spaces on the ramp are currently provided for aircraft and officials are in the process of building 16 new T-hangars. Folsom Field has GPS & NDB approaches and an Aviation Weather Observation System.

The Cullman Airport (Folsom Field) is owned jointly by the City of Cullman and Cullman Countyand is overseen by a five-person Aviation Board.
