The Town of Baileyton is a relatively small, rural community (population
614) where one can enjoy "life in the Country". Its people are friendly and
neighborly - always demonstrating "Southern Hospitality". All of the essentials for
living a comfortable life are available within the Town itself or within easy driving
distance.
Baileyton, incorporated in 1973, is located on Alabama Highway 69 North,
15 miles Northeast of Cullman and eight miles West of Arab. Highway 69 intersects with Alabama 67 at the Baileyton Town limits. Huntsville and Decatur
are both about 30 miles from Baileyton. Interstate 65 is 18 miles away. Birmingham is 65 miles from
Baileyton.
Baileyton is a progressive community -
always looking for ways to improve
opportunities and quality of life for its residents. During the 1990's, several additions
were made: a new Medical Clinic; a Pharmacy; new Post Office; a new state-of-the-art Elementary School; a 23 acre Industrial Park; two new stations for the Baileyton
Volunteer Fire Department; a new bank building (construction 2000); improvements
in the 43 acre Recreational Park and extensive road improvements.
Baileyton's major industry is Walker Brothers, LTD. One of the largest
single-store outlet for building materials in the Southeast. It has about 200
employees. In order to provide additional job opportunities for its people and to
stimulate economic growth and development, the Town began the development of
an Industrial Park in 1996 on Alabama Highway 69 North. Two industries -
Custom Impressions, Inc. and Accu-Pak - and a restaurant are currently located within the
Industrial Park. An additional commercial building (speculative) is now
available. It is 15,000 square feet with the option to
