RESCESSED COMMISSION MEETING
September 29, 2008
CALL TO ORDER AND WELCOME
Chairman Kitchens called the meeting to order at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2008, in the Commission Office Conference Room. Those in attendance were Chairman Wiley Kitchens, Associate Commissioner Doug Williams, Commissioner Wayne Willingham and County Attorney Dan Willingham.
CONSIDER RELEASING SURETY ON BEAR PEN COVE AND BEAR PEN SUBDIVISIONS
Commissioner Willingham stated they have forfeited their bond; everything is paid up and good.
Commissioner Willingham made the motion to release the bond. Commissioner Williams seconded, and upon a voice vote, the motion carried unanimously.
AUTHORIZE CHAIRMAN TO SIGN CONTRACT WITH SHERIFF’S DEPARTMENT
County Attorney Dan Willingham stated he has drafted the contract, reviewed the contract with the Sheriff, and made a few minor changes. The Sheriff has a copy of the contract and is ready sign. This contract is in regards to handling federal inmates and the distribution of the proceeds from the Federal Government. He recommended that the Chairman sign the contract.
Commissioner Willingham made the motion to allow the Chairman to sign the contract with the Sheriff’s Department. Commissioner Williams seconded, and upon a voice vote, the motion carried unanimously.
CONSIDER AUTHORIZING FY 2008-2009 BUDGET
County Administrator Gary Teichmiller stated there have been no changes since the last review of the budget. The total budget for all departments is $43,686,566.00; that includes the general fund budget of $17,273,070.00 which also contains a 4% cost of living increase. This budget is very tight. Commissioner Williams clarified that the cost of living increase would go into effect the first full payroll in October. Mr. Teichmiller replied that is correct.
Commissioner Williams made the motion to except the budget for fiscal year 2008-2009. Commissioner Willingham seconded, and upon a voice vote, the motion carried unanimously.
NEXT REGULAR COMMISSION MEETING TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 2008
Chairman Kitchens announced the next regular Commission Meeting is Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 10:00 am in the Commission Office Conference Room.

Commissioner Williams made the motion to adjourn. Commissioner Willingham seconded.
