SPECIAL CALLED MEETING
March 4, 2009
CALL TO ORDER AND WELCOME
A Special Called Meeting of the Cullman County Commission was held March 4, 2009, at 9:00 a.m., in the County Commission Office Conference Room. Chairman Graves called the meeting to order and welcomed all visitors.
ESTABLISH QUORUM
Present were Chairman James Graves, Commissioner Doug Williams and Commissioner Wayne Willingham. Also present were County Administrator Gary Teichmiller and John Sellers, Director of Cullman County Park and Recreation.
NEW BUSINESS
Chairman Graves stated the purpose of the special meeting is to award the bid for the repair of the swimming pool at Smith Lake Park. Mr. John Sellers, Director of Cullman County Park and Recreation, introduced Mr. Russ Roberts with the engineering firm Goodwyn, Mills & Cawood, Inc. Mr. Roberts stated five (5) bids were received for the repair work on the Smith Lake Park swimming pool. The low bid of $134,725.27 was submitted by Burleson Pool Company of Hampton Cove, Al. Mr. Roberts stated he has contacted Burleson Pool Company since the bids were taken and is confident they have a good understanding and can faithfully execute the project. Chairman Graves asked if the project can be completed within the specified time frame. Mr. Roberts stated the project should be completed within the 45 days specified. Mr. Sellers agreed that the bid met the County’s specifications. Mr. Gary Teichmiller, County Administrator, agreed with the figures presented.
Commissioner Wayne Willingham made a motion to award the bid for the repair of the Smith Lake Park swimming pool to Burleson Pool Company. Commissioner Doug Williams made a second, and upon a voice vote, the motion passed unanimously.
ADJOURN
Chairman Graves adjourned the meeting at 9:03 a.m.
