CULLMAN COUNTY COMMISSION
EMERGENCY MEETING
Thursday July 9, 2009

CALL TO ORDER

Chairman James Graves called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m.  Chairman Graves, Commissioner Doug Williams, and Commissioner Wayne Willingham were present.  Also present were County Engineer Fred Penn and County Administrator Gary Teichmiller.

PURPOSE OF THE SPECIAL CALLED MEETING

Chairman Graves stated the Emergency Meeting was for the purpose of approving a request by Josh Kent for a Family Cemetery located on part of the NE ¼ of the NW ¼ of Section 25, Township 9 South, Range 5 West in Cullman County, 1625 County Road 1092.  County Engineer Fred Penn stated a perk test has been preformed and the Health Department has provided the Commission with the necessary paperwork. 

Commissioner Doug Williams expressed his concern that the cemetery would not be properly cared for in the future and stressed that the County has no obligation for the care and maintenance of family cemeteries.

Commissioner Willingham made a motion to approve the location of the Kent Family Cemetery.  Commissioner Williams seconded, and upon a voice vote, the motion passed.

Chairman Graves adjourned the meeting at 10:03 a.m.
